How Close Am I To Being "Legally" Blind?

I know that you can be legally blind but still have sight, and I was wondering how close I am. For my contacts/gles, I have a -5.25 prescription in my left eye and a -5 in my right. Is it even consider legal blindness if it's correctable? (I have good vision with contacts/gles, but my prescription is strong and without them I'm useless.) I'm just kind of wondering.
