In my chem cl, there is a question in a lab about predicting the solubility behavior of ethylene glycol, knowing that it is very soluble in ethanol. However, since ethanol is both polar and non-polar, most substances that are either polar or non-polar are only slightly soluble in ethanol. Wouldn't it have to then be true that ethylene glycol is also both polar and non-polar? I cannot seem to find the actual polarity of ethylene glycol online. Can anyone help me out?
