How can I make a software on the topic "An expert system for detection of disease from the given symptoms"?

I have to use Visual basic and Sql. I mean I would want to take the user's intake as symptoms and then make a combination of symptoms and then display the disease and advise on medicine...Please help by giving tips or sites that may be helpful! :)
