Court summons?.........?

hi i just wanted a bit of advice/info about court this has been going on for sometime. im meant to be a witness an unwilling one child protection asked me some time ago if i will go to court i said no im don't want anything to do with it. they said they wanted to look at my medical notes i said no they cant they said they can get an order to look at them. i said if that's what they can do then that's what they will have to do. that was about 6 months ago. and the other day they called me again to ask if i would reconsider, i said the above once again. i have been told a court summons has to be handed to me what if im not at home or what if i refuse to take the summons from who delivers it? and if its all so easy for them to get what they want ie for me to go court and for them to look at my medical notes then why do they ask me to reconsider instead of just doing what they have said.
